Overview
Gecker is a browser extension for managing your Gmail inbox. We prioritize your privacy and data security.
Data Collection & Usage
- Email Data: We access email metadata (sender, subject) and content solely to display
them within the extension.
- Authentication: We use Google OAuth tokens to securely authenticate with Gmail.
- Local Processing: All data processing happens locally in your browser. We do not
transmit your data to any external servers.
- No Third-Party Sharing: We do not share, sell, or disclose your data to third parties.
- Data Protection: All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
Authentication tokens are stored securely in your browser's local storage. Email content is sanitized
before display.
- Data Retention: Email data is cached temporarily for performance and refreshed
periodically. Authentication tokens are stored until you sign out or uninstall the extension.
- Data Deletion: All data is automatically deleted when you uninstall the extension. You
can also revoke access at any time via Google Account Permissions.
Permissions
The extension requires specific permissions to function:
- mail.google.com: To fetch and display your emails.
- storage: To store settings and cache email data locally for performance.
- notifications: To alert you of new emails.
